What does 'natural variation' mean?

Created by Sam Rowe, Modified on Tue, 29 Sep at 8:27 AM by Sam Rowe

Natural materials can change and vary. Wood may differ in grain, tone and texture, while handmade or glazed finishes can show small variations between pieces. Outdoor acacia is a living material: moisture can make it expand and sun or dry air can make it contract, which can lead to minor cracks, chips, peeling, splinters or warping over time. These changes can be natural characteristics of the material. If an item arrives with significant damage or a functional fault, customers should report it through the damaged/faulty-item process.
